We seem to be living in a generation of authors taking the world by storm with their first novels(Gillian Flynn, Paula Hawkins) and Andy Weir continues that with The Martian. Andy Weir is an American from California. He grew up as a big sci-fi fan, and was a computer programmer working on the popular video game Warcraft 2. He actually has been writing sci-fi since he was around 22 years old, and has written articles and stories purely for his website.
